Surfing on the Churchill

With winter weather knocking at the door, I thought I'd post this video of canoe surfing on the Churchill River from summer of '08. The video is of and taken by some friends of mine during a Saskatoon Canoe Club trip. Russell is in the blue canoe and Mark is in the red. The first portion with the small ledge is Carla's Rapid and the bigger wave train is Surf City. I've paddled through, over and past both these spots, and swim there too (purposely of course!) whenever we get the chance. It's great fun!
